National Cathedral School seeks an Upper School Learning Specialist for its Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) beginning July 1, 2021. In collaboration with an experienced Interim Director, this position supports students to become successful learners and self-advocates, helping students make full use of school-based resources. In addition, the Learning Specialist assists in providing student learning and faculty professional development opportunities to increase student and teacher effectiveness in the classroom. Qualified candidates will have classroom teaching experience and be knowledgeable about current research relevant to students in grades 4-12, for example, neurodiversity, brain-based learning, and cognitive development. Additionally, qualified candidates hold a master’s degree in psychology, education, or special education. Experience in analyzing psycho-educational testing, completing ACT and SAT accommodations applications, supporting and developing executive function skills, and working with students of varying levels of ability are necessary.
