Responsible for counseling services including assessment and evaluation of potential Bariatric surgery patients, patients at risk, counseling, pre and post-surgical outcomes testing, follow-up treatment and patient education. Performs initial clinical evaluations as well as recommendations for disposition and assisting with coordinating continuity of care. Evaluations are completed utilizing a general systems model examining the biological, psychological and social aspects of each patient while focusing on strengths based perspective. Serves as a member of the Psychiatric Liaison team, promoting teamwork within the Psychiatric/ Mental Health Team, Program Clinical Staff, and Program Medical Director, provides or coordinates comprehensive, interdisciplinary care of the bariatric patient supportive of successful patient outcomes. Serves as a patient advocate and as a representative of the department in the community at large.
What You Bring/Job Requirements
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
Two years of direct behavioral clinical experience providing individual, group or family therapy in an inpatient or outpatient setting Previous experience with Bariatric patients preferred Demonstrates a working knowledge of theories of psychology and therapeutic interventions/or addictions Demonstrates conflict resolution, problem solving and critical thinking skills necessary to implement safe Competence with DSM diagnostic criteria and treatment planning.
Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work or related field
Current Colorado State License in one of the following disciplines: Clinical Psychologist (PSY)
Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) OR Registered Psychotherapist with the State of Colorado (must obtain Colorado professional licensure within one year of hire/transfer)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
This position is truly a variable PRN (as needed) position setup for vacation coverage and additional coverage during the busy season. Right now it is setup as a position under Telehealth.
No weekends or holidays (8-16 hours per week coverage).
