Under the supervision of the Dean of Admissions, the Senior Admissions Officer(s) will assume the following responsibilities:
Participate in the recruitment process, both virtually and in-person. May include domestic and/or international travel to meet with prospective students, their families and college counselors, representing Barnard at college fairs, speaking on panels, and representing Barnard at professional meetings and conferences.
Participate in the evaluation and selection of students to the first-year and transfer class. May include conducting interviews for first-year candidates for admission.
Serve as a member of the communications/marketing team. Responsible for coordinating all social media marketing, office website management and maintenance, and creating editorial content for website/blogs/social media. Includes developing strategy, content, timeline and implementation.
Work within Slate communication functions, such as Deliver, to build and manage email marketing campaigns and notifications.
Coordinate, manage, and supervise Social Media Barnard Student Admissions Representatives (Social Media BSAR) program.
Assist with print publication marketing, including development and editing.
Liaise with the visitor experience team to ensure social media and the website marketing synergy.
Other duties may include: transfer admission process; athletic recruiting; liaison to music lessons exchange programs.
Required Qualification Summary:
Bachelor's degree from a liberal arts institution
Two or more years of experience in college admissions or related position.
Effective and persuasive communication and interpersonal skills.
some experience with supervision
Excellent conceptual and analytical skills.
High personal energy level and stamina.
Willingness and ability to travel for up to two weeks at a time.
Valid driver's license.
