Lucas Systems is currently seeking a Chief People Officer with experience in building world class culture in a growing and profitable technology company. Reporting to the CEO, this is a new, highly influential role requiring a thought leader, advisor, and business partner to the senior leadership. The Chief People Officer is responsible for developing and administering programs to help Lucas achieve its growth goals by attracting and retaining the best talent.
Provides leadership in promoting high levels of growth and profitability, while establishing Lucas as a great place to work.
Leads initiatives to build and enhance company culture.
Devises methods to enhance employee engagement and keep people connected and inspired.
Oversees career path and development plans for employees, sourcing appropriate training and mentorship as needed.
Brings best practices and thinking to performance management, overseeing and changing processes as necessary to help employees realize their full potential.
Oversees in-house recruiting, contributing to talent acquisition strategies and plans.
Manages the compensation change process, keeping abreast of the latest market trends and data.
Identifies and implements people systems and technology that allow a growing company to scale (engagement tools, applicant tracking, performance review systems, etc.).
Evaluates and implements creative and effective employee recognition programs.
Acts as a trusted advisor and coach to the management team with respect to motivating and retaining employees.
Establishes credibility and trust with management and staff as an effective listener and problem solver.
Overall, maintains a pulse of the organization through informal communication with the staff and provides early detection of issues that could affect employee morale and productivity.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in a people function, most recently as a member of a senior leadership team.
Experience in a growing company, ideally in the technology space.
Ability to pivot between strategic and hands-on.
Strong commercial acumen, with a solid understanding of business operations (sales, marketing, finance, operations, etc.) and ability to align people strategies with company growth goals.
Track record of high achievement in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment, with minimal paper, bureaucracy, and overhead.
Military experience a plus.
