Harpeth Hall seeks a dynamic, creative teacher to join a highly collaborative Upper School English department that works as a team to maintain and ensure a strong English curriculum. The ideal candidate will possess an enthusiasm for working with high school students in an all-girls environment, a commitment to innovative pedagogy, and excellent writing and communication skills. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be an experienced English teacher who is caring, passionate, and capable of demonstrating developmentally appropriate pedagogy in teaching a wide range of literature courses from ninth grade through twelfth grade. A master’s degree, 5+ years of teaching experience, and AP certification or training are preferred.
Other important qualifications include an interest in developing interdisciplinary curriculum and a comfort and familiarity with the use of relevant technology to enhance pedagogy. This position is full-time for the 2021-2022 academic year and includes being an advisor and sponsor of assigned co-curricular activities in the Upper School.
