Director of Professional Academic Programs

General Description:

Coordinate professional masters programs and certificates for domestic and international students for the College of Computing.

Manages partner relationship with DPI, Beacon, partner universities (such as CUG and UPM), unions, military and other governmental and non -profit organizations.

Works with:
- Marketing and communications to update web pages and coordinate advertising and social medical campaigns.
- Graduate Admissions
- Department Chairs, Associate Chairs and Staff in CoC
- Course Instructors
- Academic personnel across Illinois Tech

Supervises
- Professional Student Advisor
- Student workers

Other duties as assigned

Position Category: Full Time

Education & Experience:

Master's Degree or the equivalent combination of training, education and experience plus six or more years of related experience in developing and maintaining academic programs.

Knowledge & Skills:

Experience in academic program, organizational, and strategic planning and development
Ability to identify trends and build academic programs.
Ability to build relationships and influence at all levels, both internally and externally.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced and goal-oriented setting and to work as a team as well as independently.

Deep understanding of the professional education market and customer segments.
Proven ability to respond to customer/partner needs
Ability to work effectively within and outside the university to organize and coordinate activities and drive results across the university.
Sound judgement and decision-making skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
