Research Area Specialist Sr

The Research Scientist will be a member of the project team at the Center for International Reproductive Health Training unit within the University of Michigan Medical School (CIRHT-UM). CIRHT-UM aims to build and strengthen research capacity in family planning (FP), comprehensive abortion care (CAC), and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) by partnering with academic and research institutions in Africa, providing training, mentorship, resources, and seed-grant funding through a competitive proposal submission process. The Research Scientist is an integral member of the team responsible for overseeing, guiding, and providing insight on a wide range of research related projects, including all CIRHT-UM funded seed grants. The Research Scientist will work closely with the center’s Director of Research and will be accountable for high-quality interactions with internal and external partners. Review progress of projects selected for CIRHT-UM seed grant funding and see projects through to completion
Conduct research gap analyses at each partner institution in each expansion country Planning and coordination
Co-author/author publications Review applicants and select recipients of conference travel awards Additional projects as identified by the PI and Co-PI
