The Campus Security and Safety Manager will provide for the safety and protection of all students, employees, visitors and property of Kent School.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities include:
Manage a team of approximately 6.
Develop a constructive, proactive departmental philosophy, and operational procedures to guide personnel in the performance of their duties.
Manage a front entrance Welcome House.
Assumes responsibility for implementation of the School’s crisis management plan, and security-related policies and regulations.
Evaluate campus safety procedures, and crisis management plan on a continuous basis and recommend changes when necessary.
Manage all campus security activities including visitor management, electronic access control to buildings, and CCTV.
Oversee the placement, use, and maintenance of the School’s electronic security equipment including security cameras, intrusion alarm systems, and campus radio system.
Working closely with other departments (Admissions, Athletics, Facilities, and Alumni), coordinate all security needs deemed necessary for school meetings, activities, and special events.
Serve on the School’s Safety Committee, and serve as an advisor to this committee. Track worker’s compensation activities, and take appropriate steps to mitigate workplace injuries.
Take a leadership role in activities associated with welcoming students back on campus and activities associated with students departing campus.
Manage a mass communication system.
Oversee and coordinate the fire drill and fire safety program as well as intruder and lockdown drill programs. Prepare and maintain reports on all drills.
Own and manage certain vendor relationships (Securitas, Siemens, etc.).
Performs other duties as needed and assigned.
A Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and work experience in related fields, preferably in an independent school setting.
