Middle School Math Teacher
Bosque School
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR Ready to reimagine rigor? Ready to teach math in a way that helps students make deep conceptual connections, along with developing solid skills, and that is engaging for you and students? Are you passionate about innovative mathematics teaching and believe in students’ capacity as thoughtful learners and developing leaders? Are the words“student-centered” and “inquiry-driven” core to your philosophy as an educator? In the Bosque School Math Department, we are committed to an approach that goes beyond a passive model of learning and merely imparting math facts. We strive to teach students how to learn math and how to love math.
Collaborating deeply as a dynamic team dedicated to creativity and risk-taking in our teaching, we engage students in true problem-solving, not simply the application of rote skills to difficult problems, where technology becomes a tool for discovery and extension, not just a calculation device. We recognize that when students tackle rich math tasks, ask insightful questions, take risks, practice core skills, and learn from mistakes, they build mathematical capacity, resilience, understanding, and mastery. Moreover, we believe that teaching students how to learn and how to work in a collaborative environment gives them the tools to succeed in tomorrow’s world. As a Middle School Math Teacher who combines mathematical aptitude with mathematically-specific pedagogical knowledge, you will be integral to helping us further refine and implement an outstanding, rigorous, and holistic Challenging Education curriculum while bringing wisdom, energy, insight, and warmth to the position and department.
