Primary Responsibilities - Contribute to Silicon Valley International School (INTL) by recruiting and retaining students who will benefit from the school’s exceptional bilingual program and contribute to the school community.
- Represent Silicon Valley International School to the school, local and international perspective families, successfully communicating INTL’s mission, vision, and brand.
- Sets annual admissions goals in accordance with INTL’s mission of providing students with a rigorous bilingual education through the International Baccalaureate framework and approach towards education.
- Understand the school and bilingual programs' culture and climate and are sensitive to economic, cultural, and other issues present in the enrollment process.
- Provides leadership in creating an enrollment management model, including developing an annual Admission and Enrollment Management Action Plan with goals and objectives.
- Formulate forward-thinking, strategic application, admission, variable tuition, and enrollment policies.
- Prepares, analyzes, and presents statistical and trend information related to demographic and enrollment to the Head, Senior Leadership Team, Board of Directors, and faculty/staff to ensure that changes and challenges are anticipated, understood and addressed.
- Supervises Director of Lower School Admissions and Director of Upper School Admissions and provides clear communication regarding responsibilities, practices, and feedback as well as provides professional development opportunities and training.
- Oversees enrollment management budgets.
- Oversees all on-campus visitation programs, including student and/or family interviews, student shadow days, and accepted student programs.
- Oversees the entire application review process, and with the assistance of the Admissions staff, assigns reading and committee assignments to associates in the office, faculty, and staff.
- Works closely with the operational leadership team: Chief Advancement Officer, Chief Communications Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Information Officer:
- Organizes and administers the School’s variable tuition program and variable tuition goals and budget in conjunction with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Head of School.
- Works closely with the Chief Communications Officer (CCO) to develop and implement strategic marketing plans, including but not limited to understanding marketing programs, tools, vehicles, and provide information to optimize and help collaboratively develop marketing strategies, tactics, and collateral as well as promote strong brand awareness.
- Works with the Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) to help build a successful onboarding program for new families, develop and implement strategic synergies between the Office of Admission and Office of Advancement.
- Manages new student enrollment and assists with current students' re-enrolment in close connection with the Chief Information Officer (CIO), CFO, and Controller.
- Works with the Chief Information Officer to define and implement digital admissions, enrollment, registrar, and other data analysis procedures and processes.
- Able to quickly understand the local Bay Area independent school market, research and analyze areas of strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities and develop strategies to address them for the school's long-term success
- Represents INTL at school fairs and other public events and/or outreach events.
- Maintains and encourages relationships with feeder schools, counselors, consultants, and other sources for prospective mission-aligned students.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with area educational constituencies, organizations, associations, etc., including area schools, preschools, consultants, admissions directors, and organizations, and create networking opportunities.
- Acts in a collegial manner with other schools within the Bay Area Director of Admissions (BADA) and Bay Area Admissions Directors (BAAD) consortiums.
- Attends Board of Directors meetings when requested; keeps the Board fully apprised of the school’s admission, variable tuition, and marketing endeavors as related to admission and enrollment.
- Partners with academic departments, principals, academic deans, and program coordinators to promote programmatic understanding and optimize retention and enrollment programs.
- Inspires the community to actively participate in admissions events, including tours, shadow visits, evaluations, information sessions, parent-to-parent connections, and individual family conversations.
- Oversees the volunteer network of Admissions Ambassadors.
- Fosters high ethical standards, integrity, and respect for colleagues, alumnae, parents, and students throughout the admissions process.
- Understands and supports the role of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at the workplace, in education, and enrollment management.
- Manage parent and student expectations and deliver admissions decisions honestly, caring, diplomatic, and ethical. manner
- Communicate clearly and enthusiastically to all staff and prospective students.
Qualifications - A bachelor’s degree; master’s degree preferred
- Five to seven years of experience in education, preferably in admissions
- Bilingual skills preferred
- Marketing experience preferred
- Able to think critically and creatively
- Able to synthesize and present complex enrollment data in a clear and concise manner
- Exceptional emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
- Proven success in an administrative role at an independent or private school, preferably senior leadership, and working with school boards
- Demonstrated leadership qualities
- Ability to manage and prioritize competing demands, projects, and responsibilities simultaneously
- The ability to work collaboratively with other community members within a multicultural setting
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills
- Experienced community-builder and public speaker
- Ability to travel as needed, including internationally
- Ability to work on weekends/evening as needed
