Description of Work:
Under the supervision of the Associate Director, this position is responsible for providing personalized academic support and guidance for Nebraska College Preparatory Academy (NCPA) students in Grand Island. Position also meets with school counselors and prospective students; interacts with community organization and agency staff; plans and implements special events and programs for recruitment/retention of first generation/low-income students; and serves as liaison between UNL, Grand Island and other communities.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required. Must have excellent communication and organizational skills, public speaking experience, and ability to work independently. Must have strong interpersonal skills. Experience with first generation, low-income and ethnic-minority students necessary. Must have demonstrated ability to relate to K-12 age populations. Weekend and evening hours required.Travel required. Must have valid driver's license.
Experience providing academic and social support for high school students preferred. Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office software helpful. Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred. Familiarity with UNL's academic programs and student life desirable. Knowledge of the state of Nebraska and its challenges amongst under-represented populations helpful.
Posted Salary: $38,000 minimum
