The Milieu Counselor will be responsible for:
Supporting the care of patients with behavioral health needs on inpatient medical units, emergency department, and both on- and off-campus ambulatory clinics.
Responding to and deescalating acute behavioral health crisis.
Collaborating closely with RNs and medical staff to plan for behavioral health care needs.
Providing one-on-one support, as needed, to patients with complex needs.
36 hour/week position to provide support to staff and patients with behavioral health needs being cared for in non-psychiatric settings.
Rotating days/evening/night and every other weekend.
This position will rotate between 2 Brookline Place and the Main Hospital.
To qualify, you must have:
1 year of experience working with children with behavioral health needs required.
Bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related field is preferred.
Some experience in an inpatient medical/surgical, ED, or inpatient psychiatric setting preferred.
Please note: During a public health emergency, individuals in this role may be expected to take on additional duties to respond to organizational needs.
