Assistant Director of Assessment and Graduate Outcomes
Center for Career and Professional Development
JOB SUMMARY:
Develop and implement strategies in support of tracking, recording, and reporting the career outcomes of students and graduates of the University. Assess, compile, report and publicize placement and internship data. Assist the Division of Student Affairs' units with program assessment plans and processes, by establishing data collection mechanisms and appropriate program learning outcomes.
REPORTS TO: Executive Director Center for Career and Professional Development
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- In compliance with the standards and best practices established with the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) the First-Destination Survey, lead the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to capturing, assessing, promoting, and reporting graduate outcomes data to key internal and external university stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Student Affairs' Directors, Academic Deans, and other strategic University partners to compile, track, and record graduate career outcomes. Publicize career outcomes data through various mediums including written reports, updating outcomes data on appropriate University websites, and other key University communications.
- Compile, track, and record departmental data by preparing and maintaining Key Performance Indicator (KPI's) reports.
- Develop mechanisms to enhance program learning outcomes assessment.
- Develop, manage, and promote a digital badging/career credential program.
- Support career services at the University's dynamic learning hubs, including Manhattan.
- Present workshops on internships, resume preparation, interview skills and other career topics in a hybrid (remote/in-person) service delivery model.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: (Knowledge, skills and abilities)
- Extensive computer skills (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, IBM SPSS, Adobe Acrobat Professional).
- Extensive experience in data evaluation and assessment, and strong ability to analyze quantitative data using Social Sciences Statistical Package software (SPSS).
- Familiarization with data collection methods, both qualitative and quantitative (cross-sectional, longitudinal, saturation, etc.).
- Knowledge of career competencies outlined by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).
- Excellent writing skills and keen attention to detail in order to create accurate reports that efficiently and effectively summarize data.
- Excellent interpersonal, counseling and presentation skills.
- Experience working with international students seeking jobs and internships.
- Experience networking with employers or organizations.
- Proficiency in the use of social media as a recruitment/placement tool.
- Ability to multi-task while organizing a variety of programs and providing attention to detail.
- Initiate and be creative in administering complex projects.
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Master's Degree required.
- Two years' experience in the areas of statistical analysis, and/or program assessment, and/or counseling experience required.
