This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Associate to join our award winning team and be involved in investment of the Macquarie Capital balance sheet as principal in infrastructure companies and projects across Europe, with a primary focus on value-add infrastructure businesses, spanning the energy, transport, social and digital infrastructure sectors.
You will join our Infrastructure Principal and Projects team in London raising and negotiating committed external debt and balance sheet equity for infrastructure opportunities, building financial models, negotiating commercial contracts, conducting due diligence, market and industry research, preparing materials to support an transaction for both internal and external stakeholders and engaging professionally with our counterparties, such as industry partners and global co-investors, due diligence advisors and client representatives.
Recently the team has completed such transactions as the acquisition of a Fibre-to-the-Home network from MasMovil in Spain, and the £1.2bn Silvertown Tunnel PPP project in the UK, and won various industry awards such as Financial Advisor and Sponsor of the year (both for the second year running) at the 2020 Partnership Awards.
You will have an outstanding academic record and combine the knowledge obtained in your undergraduate degree (preferably in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or Law) with your previous experience (3-5 years) within the infrastructure and/or energy (excluding oil and gas) sectors in either an Infrastructure Fund, Principal Investing, or Investment Banking to quickly make an impact. There is a strong preference for candidates with relevant principal investing experience within the value-add infrastructure sector.
You will use your expertise in modelling to evaluate performance under various operating scenarios to analyse the impacts of different capital structures. Your knowledge of all stages in infrastructure transaction execution, including origination, diligence, and execution of equity, debt, and M&A transactions will enable you to summarise and present the results in a succinct manner.
If you have experience in value-add infrastructure transactions in the energy, transport, social and digital infrastructure sectors, in a comparable organisation, we want to hear from you.
