Trading - IC2 Provides assistance to the trading desk with client order execution. Liaises with support full allocation, settles issues on the life cycle of the trade. Facilitates orders for internal departments. Provides initial recommendations on the pricing of securities. May execute smaller or less complex trades and determine appropriate prices for transactions. You will also be responsible for trading client cash flows, portfolio model changes, work closely with management to ensure proper implementation of trading strategies and adherence to investment guidelines.
Assists in the trading and management of a book of business. Functions independently with delegated responsibilities from more senior traders, which includes the pricing of securities and management of capital risk to maximize returns. Executes all correspondence requisites with a good understanding of the underlying business and specific client needs. The candidate will also be responsible for trading equity consisting of foreign ordinaries, depository receipts, and US securities. The candidate will monitor movement of the securities and trading patterns to ensure best execution for clients and minimize market impact.
Tracks trades and correct trade problems. Ensure all items are cleared up on a routine basis. Conducts problem analysis and identify opportunities for process improvement. Provides product knowledge and technical assistance as necessary, and works with third party vendors to conduct research that compares BNYM to peers to provide data on pricing and trading strategies. Handles client inquires and run reports as necessary. Utilize analytical skills to resolve problems with trades and support the back office with settlements. The candidate will be required to produce and review internal reports such as dispersion/drift, price valuations, cash reports, reconciliation, and client restrictions. The candidate will have knowledge of current rules and regulations as it pertains to the Investment Advisor Act. No direct reports.
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
3-5 years of total work experience preferred.
Experience in trading or brokerage preferred.
Applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required by the business. Series 7 and 66 or equivalent, preferred. If not, willing to obtain.
Experience with Bloomberg, Charles River IMS, Archer IMS, Microsoft Excel, knowledge of managed accounts business, and understanding of settlement/trading requirements preferred.
