1. Manage the fiscal planning and management of the Student Affairs including operations and staffing matters. Provide training as needed, staff evaluations (including merit consideration), professional development and mentoring, and related personnel matters to ensure that the Student Affairs team consistently contributes to an exceptional student experience that promotes our student's academic success and wellbeing. 2. Manage the development of short and long-range operating plans, including programs services and budgets. Work with School and University staff to set development priorities for the Student Affairs team. 3. Partner with the Assistant Dean of Community and Inclusion to provide leadership for a student culture that celebrates diversity and encourages an inclusive and respectful campus climate. 4. Advise students on parameters of University and F&ES school policies, identify and evaluate options to resolve issues and challenges, and serve as a resource for students with disabilities. Provide guidance to students. Maintain confidentiality during discussions with students, faculty, police and health professionals. 5. Serve as a representative for Student Affairs on various School and University committees, including representing F&ES at quarterly Dean of Students meetings and Office of International Student meetings. Serves as a member of the Senior Leadership Team for F&ES. 6. Collaborate with the Chief of Staff and other Dean's Office team members in creating and coordinating an emergency management and readiness process especially as it relates to current students. Manage student crisis management for F&ES. 7. Work with Yale Health, including Yale Mental Health and Counseling, on relevant student mental health services issues and protocols. 8. Work with the Sr. Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, to provide guidance and support to students as part of the academic disciplinary and code of conduct grievance processes. 9. Provide leadership and oversight of the collection and analysis of data concerning student experiences and outcomes. Monitor student satisfaction with services through surveys and ongoing performance feedback. Envision opportunities for strategic change within the Student Affairs team and across the School, especially as it relates to the student experience, in partnership with the leadership team. 10. Identify and implement improvements in policies, processes and systems. Ensure compliance with School, University and federal rules, including collaborating with the Title IX coordinator for the School. 11. Work closely with the Academic Affairs Department to manage the production of the Academic Student Handbook. 12. Provide guidance to the Assistant Director of Student Affairs in the organization of the F&ES student orientation (MODs) and commencement. 13. Oversee the activities of the Student Affairs Committee (SAC), which liaisons between the student body and the school's administration. Work closely with SAC, the Director of Strategic Initiatives and the Director of Academic Affairs in the allocation of financial resources to student interest groups and other student activities. 14. Direct the preparation of the budget for the Forestry Club (student organization responsible for social activities for the students). Work closely with the Forestry Club to produce major school-wide social events. 15. Perform other, related duties as assigned.
