Manager of Admission Visits and Events

Basic Functions: Plan, execute, and evaluate Denison's daily campus visit program and all on and off-campus admission events. Manage the Admission docent staff of student employees. Coordinate group visits. Market Denison's academic programs to students, parents, counselors, and alumni through in-person, telephone, and electronic communication. Essential Job Functions: Manage all aspects of the University's daily campus visit program and admission events to effectively recruit and yield new students while providing extraordinary customer service. Plan events, coordinate the schedules of other professional staff members and student workers, and evaluate their efficacy. Recruit, hire, train, manage, and evaluate dozens of student employees. Manage the Docent staff to give tours, host overnight visitors, drive shuttles, conduct interviews, and engage in other outreach to meet agreed upon goals for student recruitment. Evaluate programs and make recommendations for changes. Coordinate and manage student and counselor group visits to Denison. Manage the campus welcome desk, the admission office lobby, and the presentation room, and maintain the physical appearance and arrangement of these spaces. Develop and maintain good working relationships with members of the faculty to facilitate prospective student class visits and to coordinate faculty participation in recruitment efforts. Develop and maintain productive relationships with counselors to help support student recruitment and retention. Work with alumni, families, and friends of Denison to help increase institutional visibility. Stay current with trends and best practices related to the campus visit experience nationwide. Represent Denison through appropriate professional organizations. Represent the University in a professional manner. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. Extraordinary customer service skills and attitude. Demonstrated experience with large event planning and management. Ability to use the latest technology in recruitment and enrollment planning, including experience with a customer relationship management (CRM) system. Collaborative team player with the ability to work in a high stress, deadline-driven environment. Ability and commitment to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality. Must have a current, valid driver’s license and must be insurable under Denison's liability insurance policy. Preferred Qualifications: Clear understanding and ability to communicate the values and mission of a residential, liberal arts college. Pay/Salary: Competitive based on qualifications. Expected salary range will be discussed with candidates selected for screening interviews.
