The Counseling Program in the Department of Counseling and Human Services at East Tennessee State University is now accepting applications for a 12-month full time fixed-term faculty (Clinical Instructor/Clinic Director) position in the area of Counselor Education, effective August 2021. This position includes an initial appointment of three years with the potential for a multiple-year renewal based upon demonstrated abilities and needs of the department. We are seeking a Clinical Instructor/Clinic Director with a professional counseling identity and strong experience as a clinician and clinical supervisor. The successful candidate will direct our on-campus clinic and teach graduate courses in our CACREP-Accredited counseling program. As Clinic Director, the successful candidate for this position will coordinate and manage the ETSU Community Counseling Clinic (CCC) on ETSU’s main campus. The CCC is a state of the art community-based mental health clinic equipped with a recording system.
- Collaboration with the Director of Field Experience, program faculty, and students including coordinating practicum and internship counselor and client schedules; - Monitoring compliance to professional and state legal and ethical standards pertinent to a mental health facility and training clinic; - Marketing and client recruitment; - Managing daily clinic operation including responding to inquiries from the community and prospective clients, maintaining software, and ensuring client safety through regular quality of care assurance file audits (progress note review and approval, treatment plan review, development of policy and procedures, and other documentation needs); and - Providing onsite clinical supervision (including crisis/emergency support) as needed and supervising graduate assistant(s) assigned to the clinic.

Applicants for this position must possess:
Master’s Degree, or higher, in Counseling from a CACREP-accredited program.
Be licensed as an LPC-MHSP in TN (or eligible to become licensed as an LPC-MHSP in TN within six months of appointment).
Have a minimum of five years post-licensure professional counseling experience, and meet the TN board requirements for supervision training.
Experience teaching counseling practicum, internship and/or other graduate counseling courses.
Demonstrate a strong commitment to multicultural and social justice counseling competencies as evidenced in clinical work, supervision, and teaching.
Strong working knowledge and understanding of established counseling professional codes of ethics and best practices.
Professional counseling identity, including membership in ACA or other professional counseling associations.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation’s, and perform other duties, responsibilities, or special projects as assigned.
