Middle School French Teacher (Full-time)

The Agnes Irwin School, an all-girls' Pre-K through 12th-grade independent school in the Philadelphia suburbs, is committed to fostering the intellectual and personal growth of girls and young women. Providing its students with a rigorous academic education, AIS is dedicated to developing each student's highest potential in intellect, character, and physical well-being. 

Currently, The Agnes Irwin School is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and creative Middle School French Teacher for the 2021-2022 academic year.  Successful candidates will be committed to fostering the intellectual and personal growth of students through the mission of The Agnes Irwin School and the Core Values of Excellence, Character, Community, and Respect. 

Responsibilities include:

• Create a positive, caring classroom community and meaningful relationships with students
• Design engaging lessons for students based on learning targets
• Observe, document and reflect on student learning
• Implement current curriculum and contribute to its ongoing development
• Be an active participant in the life of the school attending assemblies, serving as an advisor, coach, and/or club sponsor as necessary
• Participate in professional development and faculty evaluation process
• Other duties as assigned 

Successful candidates will possess:

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree is preferred
• 2-3 years of classroom experience teaching French is preferred
• Native or near-native fluency in French is required
• Ability to engage students in meaningful classroom activities is required
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills are required
• Experience with educational technology and platforms is highly desirable
• Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team is required
