High School Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics Instructor for the 2021-2022 Academic Year
Northwood School in Lake Placid, NY seeks a qualified applicant for a full-time instructor position in our STEM Department. The candidate should be energetic, creative, collaborative and prepared to begin in August 2021. Candidate should be willing to support and work toward Northwood?s Academic Philosophy:

Specific responsibilities include:
Teaching four sections of Physics and Chemistry or Mathematics.
Completing grades/comments, advisor letters, and other forms of academic communication in a timely, professional manner.
Attending all faculty meetings, department meetings, and other meetings as required.
Serving as an advisor for 6-8 students, providing guidance in academic, extracurricular, social, and personal areas, and serve as the school's key liaison to parents for those students.
Leading or assisting with an afternoon activity or sport in two of three seasons.
Overseeing dormitory duty one night per week and one weekend per month.
Attending all school functions: assemblies, formal dinners, and other special events.
Promoting the development of character, community, and curiosity in all dealings with students, including enforcing school rules.
Other duties as assigned.
A Bachelor's degree in a related subject area. A Master's degree is preferred.
Ability and desire to work as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills and professionalism.
Teaching experience is preferred but not required.
Experience with project-based or problem-based learning is encouraged.
Experience with interdisciplinary lesson planning and/or co-teaching is encouraged.
Desire to continue learning and growing professionally.
