| College of Education The Science Education Program in the Department of Teaching and Learning at the University of Iowa invites applications for a one academic year (9 month) open rank visiting faculty position to fulfill the teaching, research, and service duties outlined below. The position will begin August 18, 2021 through May 13, 2022. Major Responsibilities

About the Department and Science Education The Department of Teaching and Learning at the University of Iowa has over 40 faculty members and over 800 students. It includes nine teacher education programs and four doctoral programs. The Science Education program area includes degrees at the BA, BS, MAT, MS, and PhD levels as well as an online MS in STEM Education. Courses are taught for elementary and secondary teacher education in these content areas. These courses include learning abroad opportunities as well as field experiences in schools and through place-based learning trips. Science faculty regularly apply for and receive grants from external funding sources, such as NSF, NASA, and CGRER and conduct professional development for in-service teachers in innovations in science education. The Department has an active Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity Committee that guides work on equity and anti-racist education the Teacher Education Program. The department is also establishing pipeline programming to increase the future teachers of color in Iowa. About the College The College of Education offers more than 80 undergraduate and graduate degree programs, including licensure, endorsement, and certificate programs, many of which are regularly ranked among the best in the nation.
