Department Name: 7H000:COLLEGE OF MEDICINE Job Summary: The College of Medicine seeks a Vice Dean for Research who has a vision for the future of research in academic health systems that includes innovation and collaboration that benefits patient care, promotes scientific advancements, and will expand and diversify the research portfolio for the college. Responsibilities include overall responsibility for facilities, administration, legal and risk management programs as they relate to research for all campus sites. Assurance of alignment with the University’s and college's mission, responsiveness to the needs of the state, and a program of superior quality meeting the standards of accrediting bodies will be major priorities. Skills /Knowledge/Abilities: The successful candidate should demonstrate strong leadership skills as a listener, decision-maker, humanist, and an effective advocate for the department, its divisions, and its faculty. The candidate should have experience developing collaborative initiatives and the personal characteristics needed to promote, foster, and facilitate the trust of colleagues and the broader University faculty. The successful applicant should demonstrate impeccable integrity and be an effective communicator. Position Time Status: Full-Time Required Education: Doctoral degree required. Preferred MD, DO or PhD with understanding of both basic sciences and health service research Required Related Experience: Required License/Registration/Certification : Must be in good standing with all regulatory and governmental boards and agencies. Preferred Education/Experience: Prior extensive administrative experience as an administrator preferred.
