Camp Dates: 

June 28th to August 20th

Hours: 8:30 am to 4:15 pm

Staff Training: June 19th, June 22nd, and June 26th

Minimum Qualifications

• Training and experience in specific activity area (must be documented)
• Desire and ability to work with children and adults in a busy camp setting
• Ability and experience in supervising staff and campers
• Ability to accept guidance and supervision 
• Good character, integrity and adaptability
• Enthusiasm, patience, self-control and sense of humor
• College graduate of at least 21 years of age

Responsible to:  Program Director or Assistant Director

General Responsibility

Plan and lead an eight week curriculum that serves to encourage, inspire, and deepen campers’ appreciation of the activity you teach and encourage active participation by all campers in the activity.

Specific Responsibilities

• Be in attendance all day and every day that camp is in session
• Be punctual and prepared for your daily activities
• Ensure that counselors are fully engaged in the activities along with the campers, as appropriate, and to provide clear instruction and direction to group counselors to ensure this
• Attend periodic staff meetings throughout the summer
• Communicate to appropriate administrative staff any situation needing attention with regard to personnel, scheduling, facility or safety issues
• Come prepared each day with a creative, educational and related rainy day activity
• Periodically assist with lunch and traffic duty
• Conduct a pre-season inventory and provide the office with an order of needed supplies well in advance of camp
• Compile a written equipment and supplies inventory at the end of the season
• Maintain equipment and report damages or loss in a timely manner
• Ensure that all equipment and supplies are stored for the off-season in an organized manner
• Practice discretion at all times in conversations with campers and other staff
• Attend pre-season staff training
• Other reasonable duties as assigned by the program director or assistant director

Essential Functions

• Ability to communicate and work with other staff and provide necessary instruction to campers
• Abilities to observe camper behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior management techniques
• Cognitive and communication abilities to plan and conduct the activity to achieve camper development objectives
• Ability to work with different age and skill levels
• Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to activities
• Possess strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers
