![]() Vice Dean-GME/CME and Partnerships Title: 166-NN - Clinical Professor - Career Business Title: Vice Dean-GME/CME and Partnerships Additional Titles: Location: WSU SPOKANE CAMPUS Employee Type: Faculty Job Family: Faculty - Academic - Not OT Eligible Position Details: Duties and Responsibilities: 20% Land Grant Mission - System Wide Strategic Planning and Program Executive Oversight The Vice Dean - GME/CME and Partnerships (VDGCP) is responsible for the coordination and executive oversight of Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine (CoM) system-wide strategic planning that defines the future activities of the CoM in and around WA including education, patient care and community service. The VDGCP ensures that CoM strategic plan is consistent with university and regional campus strategic plans. The VDGCP engages all units of the CoM as well as external stakeholders to develop an inclusive, cohesive, and measurable plan that guides the CoM forward in its mission to the rural and underserved communities of the state. The VDGCP works closely with the CoM Director for Marketing, Communications and Operations to track and report strategic plan progress and to adapt to emerging environmental conditions. 20% Land Grant Mission - Outreach, Community Engagement and Advancement The Vice Dean - GME/CME and Partnerships is responsible for the coordination and executive oversight of CoM outreach, community engagement and advancement. The VDGCP oversees the CoM advancement staff, and coordinates with the regional campuses, the Director of Health Sciences Public Policy and the WSU Foundation to ensure that fund raising activities advance the overall strategic priorities and needs of the College. The VDGCP oversees the efforts of the Associate Dean for Land Grant Mission and Leadership and engages directly in statewide relationship building and stewardship leading to increased fidelity in student recruiting, preceptor identification and recruitment, access to patient care, opportunities for expansion of the research enterprise, and community service. The VDGCP will also develop and implement a new program that extends engagement/outreach to our CoM alumni to support their lifetime professional development. 20% Graduate Medical Education - Strategic Planning and Program Executive Oversight The Vice Dean - GME/CME and Partnerships is responsible for the coordination and executive oversight of the CoM Graduate Medical Education (GME) program. The VDGCP oversees the efforts of the Associate Dean for GME/CME with the goal of increasing the number and capacity of GME programs throughout WA. The VDGCP stewards the existing GME program clinical relationships and works strategically with the Associate Dean for GME/CME to identify and create new, fiscally sustainable GME programs particularly in rural and underserved communities. The VDGCP works with the development staff and the WSU Foundation to develop capital resources to fund new programs. 20% Continuing Medical Education - Executive Oversight The Vice Dean - GME/CME and Partnerships is responsible for the coordination and executive oversight of the CoM Continuing Medical Education (CME) program. The VDGCP oversees the efforts of the Associate Dean for GME/CME with the goal of providing high quality and relevant continuing medical education programming for physicians and healthcare providers while enhancing the academic reputation of the College. 15% Service The Vice Dean - GME/CME and Partnerships is expected to serve (with significant freedom of choice) on faculty standing committees, external boards (including if nominated to the practice plan board of directors) and other community-based engagements consistent with the mission of the College. 5% Other Miscellaneous duties related to the College and University missions as directed by the Dean. Required Qualifications: MD, DO, or equivalent degree with over 5-years of direct experience at the Sr. Associate Dean or higher level in the general administration of community-based medical school operations and accreditation activities. Over 5-years of experience as a GME program director or equivalent administrative role in a major health system setting or an ACGME accredited medical school. Preferred Qualifications: 5-years or more experience as a licensed and board-certified physician in the direct provision of patient care. Experience in the precepting of undergraduate and/or graduate medical education program students/trainees. Experience in the accreditation and implementation of CME programming. Experience in LCME accreditation.
