DESCRIPTIONThe mission statement of UCSD Center for Community Health (CCH) is to Transform health and wellness in diverse communities by improving health equity. UCSD is a student-centered, research-focused, service-oriented, public institution that provides opportunity for all. CCH has a 30-year history of obesity-related research, which was the foundation of our public health outreach work in San Diego County. CCH operates largely through translational research, applying knowledge from basic biology and clinical trials to best practices and tools that address critical medical needs, specifically designed to improve health outcomes. CCH has the understanding and expertise to reach many low-income families across San Diego in priority communities, and engage them in obesity prevention, education, awareness of health issues, and reduction in health disparities. Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Program Manager assists in managing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs focusing on vulnerable populations. The incumbent assists with the daily operations of projects and programs and performs complex series of interrelated functions and tasks with significant operational ramifications. This includes, but is not limited to managing long range planning, developing goals and objectives for new programs, and working on complex research and evaluation deliverables of diverse scope. Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of analytical practices, policies and procedures; researches, analyzes and develops solutions to a wide range of issues. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Primarily deals with policies, programs and proposals which are complex in nature and diverse in scope. Develops new programs, policies or procedures for possible implementation. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
