Hackley School seeks a Middle and Upper School Teacher of Spanish for the 2021-22 academic year. The preferred candidate will have a strong background in the target language (BA in Spanish; graduate degree preferred). Hackley’s Modern Languages Department offers Spanish in grades 3-12, ranging from beginning Spanish to Post-AP. The ideal candidate must have experience teaching Spanish at the middle and upper school levels. Other responsibilities include being an academic advisor to middle or upper school students and contributing to the extracurricular life of Hackley’s Middle and/or Upper School. Candidates with experience and skill in other world languages in addition to Spanish, namely French and/or Mandarin, are welcome.
•A qualified specialist in teaching Spanish, who is comfortable conducting classes in the target language and contributing to a curriculum with a communicative approach. •Flexible and happy to teach both Middle and Upper School (including AP Spanish) •Committed to learning and teaching in a collaborative, dynamic environment. •Comfortable using educational technology and integrating it into curriculum and daily lessons. •An eager collaborator in a group of 6 Spanish teachers, and a department of 12 specialist linguists. •Willing to travel & chaperone trips abroad.
