Upper School Dean of Students Full-Time Beginning late August 2021
Reports to: Head of the Upper School FLSA: Exempt Date Posted: February 17, 2021
The Dean reports to the Head of the Upper School and serves as a member of the Upper School support team.
Collaborates with division head, support team, and divisional faculty on establishing policies, protocols and practices that serve and support student development, learning, health, and safety.
Oversees the Upper School Advisory Program.
Manages the Upper School Student Council, mentors student leaders and provides opportunities for students to develop leadership skills.
Organizes student field trips, extracurricular activities, and special speaker programs.
Collaborates with the Admissions Department in designing orientation events and welcoming prospective and new families.
Collaborates with several constituencies in school in managing various network programs.
Addresses social behavior and discipline and maintains correspondence with students and families.
Ability and willingness to adapt to changing circumstances (comfortable with in-person and virtual platforms as well as occasionally supporting in coverage across grade levels).
Maintain congruence between the school and the mission as articulated in the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart schools.
Performs other duties as assigned by and in support of the division head or head of school.
Requirements and Qualifications
Successful candidates will hold a Master’s degree and will have a passion for interacting with high school-aged students.
Successful candidates will have 3+ years of experience in education and proven success as part of an administrative team.
Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
