The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, at the University of Illinois Chicago Campus, invites applications for the Head Coach- Women's Soccer Position. The Head coach for UIC women’s soccer is responsible for the leadership and management of all phases of the program. This includes conducting all program operations in a manner that upholds the philosophy and objectives of UIC Athletics and the University of Illinois Chicago. Job Summary The head coach for UIC women’s soccer is responsible for the leadership and management of all phases of the program. This includes conducting all program operations in a manner that upholds the philosophy and objectives of UIC Athletics and the University of Illinois Chicago. Job Responsibilities (Essential Duties) •Lead, motivate and develop student-athletes to reach their full potential, academically, athletically and socially, as individuals and as a team. •Demonstrate a commitment to the personal development and overall wellbeing of student-athletes, including support for and participation in departmental programming, support services and related initiatives. •Adhere to and enforce all policies and procedures of UIC Athletics and the University, as well as the rules and regulations of the Horizon League, the NCAA and other authorities that legitimately influence the intercollegiate athletics program. •Develop a women’s soccer program that annually competes at the highest levels of the Horizon League and for NCAA Championship bids. •Oversee the recruitment and selection of elite student-athletes, academically, athletically and with respect to character. Ensure compliance by staff with NCAA recruiting rules. Organize and facilitate recruiting visits. •Develop and schedule practice and skill instruction sessions as permitted by NCAA rules. Guide and instruct student-athletes on individual and team skill development and performance. •Develop and implement a strategic competition schedule that provides the best opportunity for student-athlete development and competitive success, in partnership with supervisor. Responsible for scheduling contests, travel arrangements, and related logistics in accordance with university policies. •Monitor the academic progress of student athletes in partnership with Student-Athlete Academic Services staff. Assist in enforcing student-athlete compliance with class attendance, required study hall, mentor meetings, academic counselor meetings and other academic and personal development requirements. Demonstrate a commitment to achieving team goals pertaining to the Federal Graduation Rate, the Graduation Success Rate and the Academic Performance Rate, the three nationally recognized academic metrics. •Manage the team’s annual operating budget and scholarship budget. Exercise strong, proactive fiscal responsibility in accordance with all university policies. •Supervise assistant coaches, student managers and other sport-specific staff to ensure their compliance with applicable rules, policies and procedures. Provide orientation, training and remediation as needed. Conduct regular and meaningful performance evaluations. Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in related field preferred. Minimum of five (5) years of soccer coaching experience or equivalent. Knowledge of and commitment to compliance with NCAA rules and regulations. A commitment to the academic success, personal development and overall wellbeing of student-athletes. A commitment to integrity, gender equity, diversity and inclusion. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Strong written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated success as a women’s soccer head coach preferred. Demonstrated success in collegiate women’s soccer coaching preferred. Demonstrated success in Division I collegiate women’s soccer coaching preferred. Will be required to pass annual NCAA Coaches Certification exam. Will be required to maintain CPR, First Aid and AED certification. Working Conditions
General office environment. Regular travel not expected but may occur occasionally around previously scheduled events. Requires work in a stationary position for extended periods of time and operation of computer and other office equipment. * If not within general office conditions, attach detailed environment checklist.
