Job Posting Title: Genetic Counselor, Comprehensive Fetal Care Center Hiring Department: Department of Women's Health Position Open To: All Applicants Weekly Scheduled Hours: 40 FLSA Status: Exempt Earliest Start Date: Immediately Position Duration: Expected to Continue Location: UT MAIN CAMPUS Job Description: Job Description Summary Job Details: We are seeking an exceptional individual to join the Department of Women’s Health as a Prenatal Genetic Counselor in the Comprehensive Fetal Care Center at Dell Children’s Hospital. This is a full-time clinical position that will report jointly to the Director of the Comprehensive Fetal Care Center and to the Director, Genetic Counseling Services. The Comprehensive Fetal Care Center will be located in the newly built outpatient pavilion adjacent to Dell Children’s Medical Center. It will be staffed by two senior fetal medicine specialists and offer the entire spectrum of prenatal services for fetal anomalies including diagnostic genetic testing, comprehensive ultrasound, MRI, and fetal echocardiography. Fetal interventions including intrauterine transfusion, laser for complications of monochorionic twins, repair of fetal spina bifida and tracheal occlusion for fetal diaphragmatic hernia will be offered through the program at Dell Children’s Medical Center. The Genetic Counselor will provide genetic counseling services to a diverse population of high-risk patients in the Comprehensive Fetal Care Center and provides cross coverage for the broader Maternal Fetal Medicine program. Required QualificationsMaster's degree in Genetic Counseling/Human Genetics or closely related field from an ABGC-Accredited Genetic Counseling training program. Board Certification by the American Board of Genetic Counseling. Significant academic achievement preferred. Faculty appointment at Dell Medical School may be available to qualified candidate. |
