Position Summary: Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Admissions Officer for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions/ Enrollment Management. This position reports to the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications within the Office of Undergraduate Admissions/Enrollment Management. The position develops content for email, print (e.g. brochures, flyers, postcards, letters, etc.), and the web targeting prospective, admitted and enrolled students, as well as their parents and high school counselors. This position also works closely with internal Admissions teams and communications specialists at select Rutgers–New Brunswick schools to develop and edit marketing materials, such as emails, flyers, and newsletters. Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Provides editorial and marketing assistance to admissions counselors and other Rutgers administrative staff. Edits and proofreads marketing materials to ensure accuracy of content and quality, as well as adherence to the university's brand guidelines. Assists with social media campaigns across multiple channels and assist in the management of a branded social network. Responsible for a full range of recruitment activities, including representing the university at high schools and college fairs (both in-person and virtual); conducting group information presentations on- and off-campus; and rendering decisions on freshman and transfer applications for undergraduate admission.Minimum Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. A minimum of two (2) years of related experience.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Finely honed, strong writing skills Strong proofreading and editing skills Individual should be highly motivated with the ability to handle considerable and varied responsibilities Strong public speaking and presentation skills Ability to work well individually, as well as on a team Must understand the communication needs of a variety of external constituencies Understanding of email metrics with the ability to make recommendations for future enhancements based on data and performance Provides great customer service, transparency, and collaboration throughout all endeavorsPreferred Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in English is preferred. Marketing background, including the ability to communicate concisely and understand the nuances of communicating for various audiences and platforms. Prior experience in higher education. Knowledge in Salesforce Marketing Cloud Individual should be highly motivated and imaginative, with the ability to handle considerable and varied responsibilities in a fast-paced, complex environment Outstanding organization, writing, grammar, and speaking skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) including relational databases (e.g. Access).
