DESCRIPTIONUnder the direct supervision of the Practice Manager, the Sleep Lab Supervisor will oversee administrative matters with scheduling, EPIC work queue management, patient referrals and authorizations for the Center for Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine. The Sleep Lab Supervisor provides supervision and leadership for appointment scheduling, durable medical equipment, registration, and front desk staff. The Sleep Lab Supervisor must demonstrate solid subject matter knowledge and provide support and oversight of all aspects of HST, in center PSG testing including MSLTs and positive airway pressure administration. Responsibilities include all aspects of operational, administrative, supervisory, finance and clerical duties, and patient satisfaction initiatives necessary to promote the goals of UCSD Health System. Incumbent exercises independent decision making based on management and leadership skills to exercise these major functions: personnel management, leadership, communication, finance, system development/improvement, program planning and education. Supports the Practice Manager with the oversight of all TJC requirements and CQI projects throughout the department. Observe all regulatory requirements to assure ongoing compliance with UC San Diego Health System. Aids the practice manager as a liaison with the community, industry sponsors, and professional groups to help determine the need, relevance, and effectiveness of Pulmonary and Sleep outpatient practices. Maintains all aspects of program's accreditation process including with the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). Key Responsibilities* Oversee equipment including troubleshooting, repair, safety, budget and updates.* Meet regularly with Information Technology to troubleshoot and update operations and technologies.* Meet regularly with various durable medical equipment (DME) companies and PAP companies to resolve issues and improve clinic/lab productivity.* Oversee all aspects of sleep study scoring including quality control.* Program planning including updating sleep lab protocols & implementing new protocols (eg hypoglossal nerve stimulation) and operational decisions to improve clinic and sleep lab operations.* Maintain subject matter expertise including attending sleep seminars and provide frequent education. * Oversee internal and external marketing activities.* Assist in coverage as needed in the Sleep Laboratory.* Assist providers with research projects.
