What will you be doing?
You will be engaging with a dynamic portfolio of financially vulnerable customers including some situations where facilitation via a third party advisor
Applying judgement to gauge where each customer lies for example; providing empathy/ support to those struggling; challenging those seeking to avoid liability
Negotiating with customers in stressful and emotional situations, which provides customers with confidence and reassurance that they will be treated
Being understanding of the increasing regulatory environment and its impact on the manner in which we need to engage with our customers
Analysing a variety of financial information from a variety of sources and applying to formulate appropriate strategies with each customer
Identifying, understanding and navigating through a high variety of complex financial structures to establish liabilities and pursue multiple repayment solutions accordingly
Considering instructions of third party suppliers such as tracing agents, enquiry agents and debt collection agencies to help inform/take forward the customer negotiations
What we're looking for:
Knowledge and understanding of impairment policy and implementation of recovery actions e.g. sanctioning, Bank security, triggers/provisions/non-accruing debt/write-offs
Thorough knowledge of Corporate and Personal insolvency
General banking knowledge, including banking products & services including an awareness of factoring, invoice discounting, asset finance as well as network products
Knowledge of CONC, Data Protection Act and Lending Standards Board requirements, and an awareness of the associated risks e.g. Brand, Reputational & Conduct Risk
Skills that will help you in the role:
Previous customer experience dealing directly with customers
Knowledge of MS office applications (word, excel, outlook)
Experience of recovery in Network, receivables and/or Asset Finance
Credit Skills Development (optional or willingness to complete)
