Through our work, we hope to empower people—starting with our clients, employees, and talent resources—to find the work that fuels their careers and their lives The Salo Chief Talent Officer will be responsible for all aspects of the Talent function with an emphasis on attracting and truly engaging talent. This individual will play a principal role as Salo becomes a national firm. This highly visible position requires a leader who can articulate a vision, socialize and advance that vision and lead the team to execute with precision. As part of the Leadership Team at Salo this individual will ensure our values-based foundation drives the growth and success of the future. Key Responsibilities: Build and continue to develop strong relationships across the organization at every level. Gain a strong understanding of the business, working closely with Sales and Finance to anticipate needs, and either staff, or develop talent accordingly, with relevant competencies. Be a thought partner whose creative thinking helps drive the executive leadership team to achieve company goals. Act as brand ambassador, actively and authentically champion the Salo values, culture and employee experience. Ensure Salo is evolving how we work as the world evolves and becomes more virtual while maintaining our values-based foundation and commitment to excellent consultant and client focus. Develop our Salo community. Ensure our employees both internal and consultants are connecting, collaborating and communicating with each other. As a Salo leader drive inclusion and behavior change to create a truly diverse team. Create and execute a robust talent architecture to attract and retain talent that will fuel Salo’s national growth strategy. Build and execute a multi-year talent management roadmap to meet expansion plans. Identify areas for improved organizational effectiveness and lead improvement initiatives that result in accelerated positive financial growth and efficiency. Build and scale best-in-class people processes such as talent acquisition, employee engagement and talent development, DEI work, organizational design, change management and culture initiatives to enable strategic growth plans. Assess human capital needs relative to current business performance gaps and opportunities. Build upon a strong culture to attract, engage, and retain talent in order to increase business and individual performance. Leverage external market insights, trends, and best practices to improve and elevate existing talent strategies. Win the hearts and minds of current and future employees through embedding a refreshed employment brand into the organization and the external talent market. Communicate and update the Board of Directors to ensure they are aware of talent trends, new programs and other talent and team developments. Lead a world-class HR function that is aligned to short term and long-term business needs in all aspects of the employee experience. Along with the executive team, monitor the landscape of external technologies relevant to Salo’s strategy and recommend innovative tools for consideration. Evolve the total rewards philosophy including compensation, benefits, and other remuneration that will attract and retain talent, align behaviors with business strategies, and motivate employees to deliver superior results. Leverage data and analytics determine the success of HR strategies and to calculate ROI metrics for the business based on the HR team’s contributions to the organization.

Ideal Experience: Ten (10) plus years of progressive leadership senior level talent strategy and development work including time on an executive leadership team or as an outside advisor to the CEO. Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-growth environment, preferably in a professional services industry. Demonstrated strategic thought leadership, vision and innovation to drive results. Strong corporate growth experience. The desire to build and not just maintain a strong, vital, and profitable company. A self-starter mentality with a roll-up your sleeves and get things done mindset and a drive to make a direct, tangible impact in a rapidly growing company. A commercial mindset with a deep understanding of market trends and emerging industry themes. A change agent who has been involved with and driving expansion and growth. Experience developing and motivating a team while leading through organizational change. Strong business, operational and financial acumen with excellent communication, interpersonal and collaborative skills across all levels, possessing an ability to persuade and influence.
