Middle School Math Teacher

Phoenix Country Day School is currently seeking a dynamic and collaborative educator to teach Middle School math for the 2021-22 school year. 

The ideal candidate will fulfill the following qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in Math or a related field, with an advanced degree preferred

• Exude a passion for teaching 7th and 8th algebra and geometry

• Ability to create a student-centered math curriculum and use technology effectively to enhance student learning

• Expertise differentiating instruction to meet a wide variety of math capabilities

• Use skill-based grading to measure and report student learning 

• Actively promote and embrace the school's mission statement for diversity, inclusion, equity, and justice within the classroom as well as throughout the middle school as a whole

• Exhibit flexibility, optimism, and creativity

• Understand the developmental needs of middle school students as a teacher and as an advisor 

• Enjoy working with an innovative grade-level team to foster the emotional well being and academic success of students 

• Possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral
