Genetic Counselor Position at Expanding Adult Genetics Practice in IL

Carle is seeking a Genetic Counselor to join our expanding Adult Genetics department in Urbana, Illinois.

Practice Opportunity Details Include:

• Work with an experienced Clinical Geneticist to establish an Adult Genetics clinical practice
• Join teams in prenatal, pediatric, and cancer genetics to provide genetics services across the lifespan
• Document all patient interaction, significant observations, interventions, and actions taken in the patient record
• Provides genetic counseling to patients and families regarding genetics risk, diagnosis, and diagnostic testing
• Serves as a clinical resource person and effectively shares clinical expertise with staff, students, and community in both formal and informal teaching sessions
• Enjoy opportunities to participate in research, publications, and developing and growing subspecialty clinics

Education Requirements:

Masters degree in Genetic Counseling from an American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) accredited program required. 

Licensure/Certification Requirements:

Certification or eligibility for certification by the ABGC or the American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG) required.

Illinois state licensure or ability to obtain Illinois state licensure required. 

Temporary Licensed Genetic Counselors shall practice only under the supervision of a qualified supervisor.
