What you’ll be doing...
As a senior member of the Verizon Federal team, the SPS leads strategic proposal design and content solutions, and complex proposal management for Verizon Federal.
Managing Verizon Federal’s largest, most complex and/or classified proposals with the additional objective of mentoring and training Verizon Federal personnel in best practice proposal management methodologies.
Proposal Content Strategy Development and Management.
Proposal Process / Project Management.
Ownership of Proposal Artifacts.
Proposal Theming, Writing, Editing.
Proposal Review Facilitation and Recovery.
Support complex pursuits as either the Proposal Executive or Proposal Strategist, as assigned.
Collaborate with the Capture Executive and other stakeholders to translate the capture strategy into a compelling, compliant proposal content plan and guide the proposal team in development of proposal deliverables that adhere to the content plan.
Manage the proposal in compliance with Verizon Federal proposal management standards and processes and will introduce methods to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposal process and train personnel in those methods.
Combine the technical solution brought by the Capture Executive with the bid strategies and evaluation criteria in a way that can be articulated for use in the proposal – essentially, the Strategist figures out what needs to be said in the proposal to win.
Interpret, execute, and recommend improvements to organizational procedures.
Manage and execute departmental projects when not actively engaged on a proposal; and serve as an advisor and mentor to less experienced personnel needing assistance.
Ensure the timely submission of reports, and conduct briefings to senior leadership.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience in Federal capture and proposal management.
Experience within U.S. Government structure and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
Experience with Federal proposal development, capture management, personnel management, budget formulation, and business development best practices with formal proposal management and project management training.
Experience in technical writing and editing, including editorial practice and standards.

Even better if you have:
Experience in Federal capture and proposal management – primarily in proposal management, but also including capture plan development and proposal development.
Experience managing proposal quality validation (color team reviews and other proposal content assessments).
Knowledge of document/graphic design and development standards.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and document management applications (e.g., SharePoint).
