RHCD seeks a full-time Director of Equity and Belonging.
Founded in 1934, Rocky Hill Country Day School is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory day school in East Greenwich, RI made up of 300 students in nursery through grade 12. Rocky Hill Country Day focuses on innovative teaching and an interactive, inquiry-based educational experience to ensure that RHCD students grow to become navigators, critical thinkers, citizens, and communicators, who are innovative, self-aware, ethical, and globally-minded. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
As Chair of the DEI Committee, lead the School community in fostering equity, fairness, diversity, and inclusion.
Provide strategic direction on developing relationships with underserved/ underrepresented communities.
Work with the Head of School, Division Heads, and other School leaders to develop, implement, and inform the DEI Action Steps.
Work with the Head of School, Division Heads, and other School leaders to provide professional development for faculty, staff ,and board members in DEI.
Coordinate with the Division Heads, Dean of Student Life, and other faculty/staff to plan and implement DEI programming for students in grades N -12.
Help to facilitate affinity groups, student discussions, and other student activities.
Work with the Admissions Office to recruit, welcome, and retain students from diverse backgrounds.
Partner with other administrators to recruit, welcome, and retain faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds.
Act as a resource for faculty and staff in providing academic, emotional and social support for students/families of diverse backgrounds
Act as an advisor to a group of students.
Provide support for students and families from underrepresented or historically marginalized or oppressed groups.
Collaborate as a member of the Administrative Leadership Team and report directly to the Head of School.
Perform other duties as assigned by, and in support of, the Head of School.

Education & Experience:
A bachelor’s degree in a related field, with a master’s degree preferred.
