Upper School History Teacher
The Bishop's School
Summary Description: The Bishop’s School seeks an engaging, collaborative, dynamic and learner-centered history teacher (Grades 9-12) beginning August 2021. The department seeks candidates enthusiastic about working on and with teams rather than in silos, developing writing and research-based curriculum and skills and analyzing the scope and sequence of the School’s history and social sciences curriculum. The ideal candidate will have the ability and flexibility to teach a range of courses based on departmental needs, including survey courses in world and US history, as well as an interest in developing and teaching upper-level electives. In addition to teaching, faculty responsibilities include serving as an advisor to students and extended-day office hours for additional student support. Desired Skills and Abilities

Desired Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in history or a related field is required; a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience is expected. Interest in supporting current co-curricular programs and professional learning communities is also highly desirable.
