Working within a close-knit school leadership team, the Dean of Faculty is responsible for the following areas of administration: • Strengthen and develop the school’s individualized pedagogy. • Oversee curriculum development. • Support and supervise faculty. • Oversee and develop faculty and staff professional development. The Woodhall School provides an opportunity for success to young men of at least above-average intellectual ability in grades 9-12, who have had difficulties in traditional school environments. The school embraces an individualized approach that allows each student to realize his potential and take accountability in all areas of his life. The school’s individualized approach includes an interpersonal and intrapersonal component that informs the four pillars of The Woodhall School: academics, communications, athletics, and student life. Accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), the school offers a college-preparatory curriculum that is traditional in its content yet specialized in its process. Class sizes range from two to five students, thus allowing for individualized instruction. Students participate in a variety of clubs and interscholastic athletic teams. All members of the faculty and administration share responsibility for the personal and academic growth of each student and participate in all four components of the School. The Woodhall School seeks adult mentors who believe in a young person’s potential and ability for growth and in a learning community based on compassion, integrity, and respect. A successful candidate for the Dean of Faculty will possess exceptional interpersonal and intrapersonal abilities and demonstrated organizational and communication skills. Proven experience in school administration, specifically related to academic programming, is preferred but not required. Most importantly, the candidate will embrace the unique mission of The Woodhall School and its focus on the holistic educational process.
