West Virginia University Institute of Technology (WVU Tech), part of the WVU system of campuses located in Beckley, WV, is currently inviting applications for the following employment opportunity:
Associate Dean of Students. This position is non-classified, 12-month, full-time and benefits-eligible.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
Provide administrative direction for the housing and residence life program, including summer conferences.
Supervise two full-time resident directors, Sr. Coordinator of Student Activities, and orientation Programs.
Develop and foster living-learning centers in the residence halls that are committed to educational success.
Formulate and implement campus-wide policies and procedures related to campus life.
Serve as the chief campus student conduct officer.
Coordinate division-wide assessment efforts.
Conduct long-range planning for housing and residence life.
Formulate and implement plans to enhance student engagement and support in out-of-class campus activities.
Assist with daily student operation of the Dean of Students Office.
Location: Beckley, WV

Work Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m & occasional weekend hours

Master's degree in college student personnel, higher education or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
Five (5) years progressively responsible experience in Student Affairs administration, including policy formulation and implementation.
Five (5) years progressively responsible experience in Residence Life/Housing Administration, including budget responsibility.
Five (5) years of experience in Strategic Planning.
Five (5) years of experience in Student Affairs Assessment.
Five (5) years of experience in Student Conduct Administration.
Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
Ability to lead groups of students, faculty, staff and others.
Diplomacy and Analytical Skills.
Valid driver's license
