Dean of Business, Humanities & Social Sciences - WVU Tech 16115 Description West Virginia University Institute of Technology (WVU Tech), located in Beckley, WV, is seeking an innovative, strategic, and dynamic leader to serve as the Dean of the College of Business, Humanities and Social Sciences. This position is Non-Classified, 12-month, full-time and benefits-eligible. WVU Tech has a collaborative and hands on approach to guiding and leading our staff and students. We are looking for someone to join our team who is willing to manage the day to day decisions, large and small. In our minds no task is outside of our responsibilities; if it needs done, we step up and do it. We lead by example and are there for our students whenever they need us, and our students know they can communicate with us at any given time. We strive at continuing to innovate and bring forth new and exciting opportunities for bettering the education we provide to students across the state of WV and beyond. We are a part of the West Virginia University system, but we are a smaller, more intimate campus where all of the team pitches in to make this the best experience possible for our students. The Dean is the chief academic, fiscal, and administrative officer of the College of Business, Humanities, and Social Sciences and reports to the Campus Provost. He/she provides leadership for the faculty and articulates the College's vision, qualities, and distinctiveness both within the University and to external constituencies. The Dean is responsible for curriculum planning and development, faculty and staff evaluation and enrichment, and budget administration. He/she is responsible for setting priorities and sustaining an environment of academic excellence. WVU Tech Boasts a 12:1 student-to faculty ratio and an average class size of 17 students, allowing personalized attention in a supportive environment. WVU Tech is ranked first in the state for return on investment and is ranked seventh in the nation in annual ROI for students paying in-state tuition.
