DESCRIPTIONThe Senior Director of Radiology Services will direct strategic and operational planning for all Radiology Services across the UC San Diego Health sites, including multiple hospitals, ambulatory and clinic sites. The Senior Director is accountable for ongoing operations, financial administration, human resources functions, space and facilities management, and program planning. Develops and implements patient care service standards and ensures compliance with regulatory agencies. Radiology Services: Involves the supervision or management of modalities in medical imaging. Involves the use of imaging to diagnose and treat diseases seen within the body. Includes a variety of imaging techniques such as X-ray radiography, bone density, ultrasound, MRI, mammography, neuro interventional radiology, interventional radiology (special procedures), nuclear medicine, and computed tomography (CT). Responsible coordination with department physician leadership, vendor relationships, ordering physician stakeholder relationships, and management of complex medical equipment and improving of key operational measures. Monitors productivity, financial performance, and patient and team experience measures to ensure radiology is a highly efficient and high performing service. Oversees through subordinate managers one or more large, complex departments or business units with multiple functional disciplines/ occupations, OR manages a program, regardless of size, that has critical impact upon the organization as a whole, such as most or all of a campus, medical center, UCOP or the UC System. Has significant responsibility for formulating and administering policies and programs, manages significant human, financial, and physical resources, and functions with a very high degree of autonomy. Oversees through subordinate managers the accountability and stewardship of department resources and the development of systems and procedures to protect organizational assets. Key Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership, direction, and is accountable for clinical and administrative leadership. - Ensures quality, efficiency and continuity of services for all Radiology functions. - Formulates and administers departmental policies and procedures. - Ensures regulatory compliance and oversees department and modality accreditations. - Develops new business strategies to improve performance and increase market share. - Develops and monitors productivity measures to maximize efficiencies and economies of scale. - Monitors and manages performance improvement, quality, customer service, and patient experience strategies to improve service delivery and patient satisfaction. - Adjusts strategies to achieve optimal outcomes. - Facilitates and executes a multi-disciplinary approach in the development of clinical services. - Sets and guides priorities, and coordinates interrelated projects among functional areas. - Directs financial management for Radiology Services. - - Ensures appropriate financial targets are developed and achieved. - Assists subordinate managers with budget development, reporting and variance analysis. - Allocates resources to achieve quality objectives. - Develops and fosters effective collaboration between clinical departments, medical group and affiliated services to ensure optimal integration of services. - Forecasts workforce planning based on organizational strategy. - Oversees change management in support of department and organizational initiatives. - Oversees professional development programs. Reviews and approves professional development plans with succession planning in mind. - Provides supportive, timely and constructive feedback to subordinate managers and staff. Recognizes and celebrates accomplishments. - Seeks opportunities in revenue generating services including private industry partnerships, new clinical programs and affiliation agreements. - Expands outreach activities and referral networks to ensure effective partnerships that facilitate the development of a comprehensive and integrated health care system. - Partners with the Department of Radiology on communication, physician relationships, workforce planning, and optimization of all imaging services provided. - Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's Degree in business, healthcare administration or related area; orequivalent combination of experience and training.
- Eight or more years of relevant experience and proven success in Radiology Services and all elements of healthcare delivery.
