Clinical Coordinator for Marriage & Family Therapy

The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for coordination and oversight of all aspects of the Edgewood College Marriage & Family Therapy (MFT) program's clinical experience including, but not limited to, creating, maintaining & monitoring relationships with clinical internships sites & supervisors; all policies & procedures regarding clinical internship; any necessary training of internship supervisors; and comprehensive evaluations of student interns and supervisors.  Additionally, the Clinical Coordinator documents the official verification of MFT Clinical Hours Completion to the Registrar before any MFT can graduate.  The Clinical Coordinator also serves as the Client Rights Specialist for The Family Center.

The Clinical Coordinator is required to maintain a current Licensed Marriage & Family Therapy license through the WI DSPS.

Responsibilities:

Develop & Monitor Internship Placements & Student/Agency Performance

• Create and maintain positive working relationships with appropriate internship sites throughout the Madison area and, when appropriate, in other areas determined by student needs and interests
• Screen all new internship placements for appropriateness, especially systems-based experience of the proposed supervisor and the practice environment
• Annual vote by faculty on readiness for clinical internship Annual internship placement meeting for the Cohort
• Annual meeting with internship supervisors for the Cohort
• Maintain regular contact with all internships to verify continuing compliance with departmental standards, policies & procedures
• Review interns' progress via on-site evaluations which occur three times per clinical year (August, December, May) with each student and site supervisor
• Maintain copies of student evaluations and of student evaluations of clinical supervisors as required by COAMFTE accreditation standards
• Conduct Satisfaction Surveys with Site Supervisors regarding interns
• Assist Program Director with COAMFT Annual Report in relation to internship

Supervision & Supervisory Collaboration

• Provide overview and direction for all clinical supervisors to ensure high quality professional supervision for MFT student interns, in compliance with WI State Statutes and COAMFTE standards
• Consult with student interns and their site supervisors concerning any issues/problems/concerns which may arise
• When non-routine issues arise make special site-visit reviews to discuss and diffuse any specific problems
• Supervise any interns who need additional supervision in their placements, including community-based clinics/agencies as well as The Family Center

Faculty Load

• Teach 9 graduate credits annually
• Offer office hours

Student Representative Advisor

• Coordinate meetings
• Present information at Departmental Meetings

Student Advising (1 of 3 MFT Student Advisors)

• Answer student questions regarding clinical year, as needed
• Confirm completion of courses and clinical hours
• Confirm and provide final verification of MFT Clinical Hours Completion to the Assistant Registrar, as official MFT authorization for each student to graduate

Representation of Edgewood MFT in Professional Organizations/Events

• Could include: Annual State conferences
• AAMFT National Conference attendance, as required
• Other meetings/activities as assigned

Serve as Client Rights Specialist for The Family Center

• Review client complaints, including meeting with clients, and TFC Director, as necessary
• Write 1^st level Decision per WI DHS CRS Program Guidelines
• Respond to state level inquiries, if necessary\

Additional Duties:
