St. Thomas More Catholic School seeks a joyful, faith-filled, dynamic, and visionary leader to serve as principal of our parish school, beginning in the summer of 2021. STM has a rich history of success in the Baton Rouge community, and the parish has experienced revitalization in the past several years.  We seek a leader who will continue the positive momentum for our school community as we move St. Thomas More forward.

The principal serves as the leader and chief executive of the school, reporting directly to the pastor of STM Church. The ideal candidate will embrace and promote best practices in Catholic elementary education:  spirituality, pedagogy, curriculum, student formation, etc.  The ideal candidate will also be an excellent communicator desiring to partner with parents, to support colleagues, and to nurture students.

St. Thomas More Catholic School opened its doors in 1960 and was recognized nationally as a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence in 2016. STM currently serves 675 students in PK3 through 8^th Grade. The faculty consists of 80 dedicated employees including teachers, teaching assistants, two counselors, two resource teachers, a school nurse, and office staff.

St. Thomas More Catholic School is committed to continuing a legacy of excellence in religious and academic education in a nurturing environment that fosters self-discipline. 

Applicants who met the following criteria will be considered:

• Practicing Catholic
• Master’s Degree, able to meet Louisiana Non-Public Requirements
• Minimum of five years of experience in education, preferably in Catholic schools
• Demonstrated leadership ability, preferably in Catholic education
• Must be available on or before July 1, 2021
