Upper School History Teacher

Germantown Academy, located in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, is seeking qualified, experienced candidates for a full-time position of Upper School History Teacher, beginning August, 2021. This is a 10-month position which offers an excellent array of benefits and a highly competitive salary. The Academy, founded in 1759, is a non-sectarian, coeducational, college preparatory school of more than 1,100 students in Grades PK-12, located in the northwest suburbs of Philadelphia on a campus of 126 acres.

Specific duties for History teaching position include:

• Preparing and teaching four sections total of World History 9 and World History 10.
• Attending and participating in regularly scheduled department meetings, as well as World History 9 and World History 10 team meetings.
• Collaborating with and learning from members of both World History 9 and World History 10 teams.
• Ability to serve as an Advisor to 8-10 Upper School students
• Participating in Upper School life in meaningful ways outside the classroom (coaching, leading extracurriculars, etc.)

Candidates must have at least two years of experience teaching History at the high school level.  They must have at least a B.A. in History (M.A. preferred).
