The ideal administrative candidate has a graduate-level degree or higher in education and/or curriculum development, with comprehensive knowledge of independent school management. A background in a school environment, preferably in K-9 schools, is preferred. A commitment to metrics-based planning, coupled with incomparable integrity, will best-serve each member of the SNA Marianapolis International School administration. This employee reports directly to the Head of School.
Qualifications, Skills & Responsibilities
Coordinating a comprehensive, well-articulated K-9 curriculum, honing its scope and sequence to ensure superlative instructional practices and mission-focused learning.
Managing faculty recruitment and hiring in collaboration with the Head of School.
Overseeing the annual production and revision of the academic calendar and master class schedule.
Supervising the chairs of the academic departments and supporting the faculty evaluation process.
Serving as a critical collaborative partner with the Head of School and the administrative team.
Assisting the administrative team in a curriculum review process every few years to prepare, research, and critique current practices and assessment of outcomes.
Directing annual reviews of texts and curricular resources to prompt innovative and creative approaches to experiential education.
Setting standards, in cases of academic dishonesty or academic difficulty, for student consequences and/or support that are age- and developmentally-appropriate.
Networking with curriculum directors as well as school and college placement counselors worldwide, to fortify the rigor of SNA Marianapolis International’s academic program.
Demonstrating outstanding communication skills with an emphasis on public speaking, as well as exceptional organization and time management.
