The Recreation & Community Services Director is looking for a highly qualified Facilities Superintendent to plan, organize, manage and supervise the staff and activities of the Facilities Maintenance Division within the Recreation and Community Services Department.
The ideal candidate is an experienced parks and recreation professional that is visionary for future recreation development. The next Facilities Superintendent is a strong and decisive leader, a bold advocate, solution-oriented and a person of character and high ethical standards.
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with coursework in Recreation, public administration, facility management, landscape architecture or a closely related field ; or an Associates’ degree from an accredited college or university with coursework in Recreation, public administration, facility management, landscape architecture or a closely related field with two additional years of the required experience for a total of eight (8 years); or 4 years of additional work experience for the Bachelors’ degree requirement for a total of (10 years).
A minimum of six (6) years of increasingly responsible experience in the maintenance, development and construction of parks, community buildings and facilities for a City recreation department or recreation district, school, university, school district, or sports facility which includes two (2) years of lead or supervisory experience and at least one year of administrative experience.
Licenses and Certifications: Possession of a valid California Class B driver’s license; an Aquatic License-Aquatic Facility Operator; and possession of, or ability to obtain a valid Qualified Applicator’s License within one year of appointment are required. Possession of a Pest Control Advisor’s License if desirable.
