Hospital for Special Care (HSC) is recognized for advanced care and rehabilitation in pulmonary care, acquired brain injury, medically-complex pediatrics, neuromuscular disorders, spinal cord injury, comprehensive heart failure and comprehensive inpatient and outpatient treatment for children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder.

The Staff Pediatrician provides direct inpatient care for medically fragile and technology-dependent children with complex healthcare needs as well as for children receiving pulmonary and physical rehabilitation. The Staff Pediatrician supervises other staff as direct by the Chief of Pediatrics, participates in overall clinical supervision of pediatric patient care, provides consultations as requested, and participates in inpatient and outpatient programs. The Staff Pediatrician contributes to and supports professional education for all hospital staff and participates as a teaching attending to all students and residents in pediatric programs rotating at Hospital for Special Care.

•QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Required: Eligible to become a member of active medical staff at Hospital for Special Care.
  2. Required: Board certified or board eligible in pediatric medicine.
  3. Required: Must be licensed to practice medicine in the state of Connecticut and fulfill all other credentialing requirements of Hospital for Special Care.
  4. Required: Must be recognized as a skilled clinician and teacher.
