As a critical member of our management team, we seek a dedicated and driven Senior Associate Dean of External Affairs to move forward the mission and ambitions of the School. As the Senior Associate Dean, External Affairs, you will oversee the entire range of external affairs initiatives in the School, including those for degree programs and research centers. In consultation with the Dean and the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Professional Schools Development, you will design, implement and manage a strong, comprehensive program that takes into account the lifecycle of an alum, from graduation through retirement, and the correspond levels of involvement including engagement and development. You will work directly with the Dean and members of the Anderson team with the ultimate goal of securing private support at all levels of giving from individuals, corporations and foundations. Importantly, you will initiate, develop and maintain cooperative relationships within the Anderson community and across the UCLA campus that expand and promote the impact of the School's mission. You will create a cohesive strategy that seamlessly partners Alumni Relations with Development efforts and will accomplish this while providing leadership, oversight and strategic direction to professional and support staff Ideal candidates will have strong working knowledge of the principles and practices of fundraising and ten years of increasing responsibility within a major research university or institution of equivalent complexity. You will bring to this role familiarity with current trends in business, finance and graduate management education. You will have experience and success in managing a comprehensive and complex advancement or comparable programs emphasizing solicitations similar in nature, level and complexity. You will also have excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship management skills combined with the ability lead staff in the accomplishment of goals. In addition, your prior experiences will include roles that have developed and expanded your analytical, organizational and strategic thinking skills.
