Reporting to the Dean of JSNN, the Associate Dean will serve as a key member of the JSNN administrative leadership team. The Associate Dean works closely and collaboratively with staff, students, faculty, and administration, including serving as a liaison between North Carolina A&T State University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. The Associate Dean is expected to provide operational leadership and a steadfast commitment to the scholarly mission of JSNN, which is to cultivate research and innovation and provide a high-quality education.
An earned terminal degree in an academic science or engineering discipline with experience in nanotechnology.
Holds/Earned the rank of Tenured Full Professor and meets the qualifications to be granted tenure in a department at JSNN.
Experience working with an agency or foundation that grants funding to universities.
Record of distinction in teaching and research.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated record of significant departmental or university service.
Experience in submitting applications for external funding.
Experience in leadership within a national or international organization.
Ability to demonstrate experience in leading transdisciplinary efforts.
Demonstrated multicultural competency.
Experience mentoring junior faculty.
